The Motivation for Ministry

The Motivation for Ministry

Too often those who represent God and his message have used their platform as a means of gaining popularity and financial success. I am in no way saying that a Pastor or Christian worker should not get paid BUT that should never be the principal motivation for serving!

First Peter, chapters 1 and 2, teach us that the primary motivation for serving the church is to feed God’s people spiritually. That should always be first! However God blesses after that is accomplished, is His business. Pastors are to be first and foremost faithful servants.

Pastors, we are not in the ministry for ourselves! We serve God’s people for their blessing and benefit. May our principal motivation be to bring glory to God as his people grow spiritually under our ministry.
